Small Works, 2006
This series of mostly small works, were made after I finished my project, The Divine Body in 2005. After throwing myself so completely into a large multi-disciplinary, multi-venued project, I felt the need to work on a series of small, intimate drawings in order to revisit what my work was about. I was eager to work small and with bright color as much of the work I created in 2004 and 2005 encompassed large scale black and white charcoal drawings. After The Divine Body project and after making work directly inspired by the Nag Hammadi Corpus, I was eager to make work that was more impulsive and free from a set narrative. Many of these small drawings I ended up giving to people who contributed to the Divine Body project.
