WRAPT, 2010
WRAPT is a single drawing installation that effectively wraps thirty feet around the room. It was installed at Littlefield Theatre in Brooklyn, NY. The work is interwoven with various forms of trash or wrapping, depicting a chain of impossible landscapes within the natural world. Trees are at once bodies knitted together with simple black line and sudden bursts of color. WRAPT is a play on words: rapt, rapped, and wrapped refer to the rapture that nature inspires in us; rap music idioms(often performed at the Littlefield Theater); and disposable wrapping found in great ubiquity in every aspect of our modern lives.
