Tree Planets, 2012-2015
Throughout the last few years, I have been making a series of small drawings that I call Tree Planets. This, for now, is just a small sample. After having my daughter in 2011, I found myself obsessed with drawing circles and flying planets. Like Impossible Lanscapes: Tree Planets, these images address my ever growing concern about the state we are leaving our environment for future generations. They also relay the joyous yet nervous isolation one feels having children. These trees, as I compare to evolution in my artist statement, are like a wild, promiscuous bush, influenced by the tides, wind and rising waters of a changing planet.
