World Without a Head was performed at the lush and intimate Hope Community Garden in Spanish Harlem. Infested, a sculpture of a tree composed of repurposed material and recycled plastics was also installed in the garden. Dancers Cori Kresge and Gary Lai alongside my two step daughters, Jordan and Quincy, were costumed almost entirely in recycled materials imitating futuristic creatures that evolved from trash and a damaged planet. This performance challenged the notion that as humans we are self-sufficient, or separate from nature.
